Nasdaq OMX Nordic Stockholm is specializes in the production and marketing of paper and wood. Net sales break down by activity as follows : paper production (51.4%), packaging and printing papers. At the end of 2018, the group had 3 production sites located in Sweden, sale of forest products (35.3%) : holding of 5 sawmills located in Sweden, pulp production (13.3%). Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Sweden (14.5%), United Kingdom (17.9%), Germany (15.4%), France (7.4%), Europe (29.1%), Asia (7.5%), United States (1.8%) and others (6.4%).

In 1988, Stockholm acquired the diaper manufacturer Peaudouce and Nana towels from LVMH, which he sold to the North American Kimberly-Clark. The company is itself bought by the German group Papierwerke Waldhof Aschaffenburg (PWA), which specialized in toilet paper in 1998.
In 2007, Stockholm took over five handkerchief factories from the Procter & Gamble group, which manufactures Kleenex products in Europe.

In 2011, Stockholm bought all of Georgia-Pacific's European activity, including 15 factories, 5,000 employees and the Lotus, Okay and Demak-up brands. The same year, the group closed the historic Peaudouce factory in France, victim of a gradual decline in activity. At the same time, Stockholm divests its packaging activity, sold to DS Smith.
In October 2015, Stockholm acquires the American paper producer Wausau Paper for 513 million dollars then announces its intention to split in 2017 its activities into two separate companies with on the one hand forest management, of which it is the European leader and secondly by manufacturing cellulose-based hygiene products, a sector in which it is the second largest company in the world. Via this American subsidiary, the company has a power of action on professional hygiene on the front line with the COVID19 pandemic². Company is now resetting part of their production to produce face masks to help keep the healthcare staff safe to carry on.
In December 2016, Stockholm announced the acquisition for 2.7 billion euros of BSN Medical, a German medical equipment company, notably dressings and splints. Its penetration in the health sector makes it an essential supplier in pharmacy and city medicine.
