The US marine corps received 38 AH-1G rented under the name AH-1J SeaCobra
Other countries, such as Spain, also took a few units
With the increase in the number of aircraft present in South East Asia, the Cobras began to operate more widely and in large quantities, particularly in escort, reconnaissance and fire support missions
Aircraft were also supplied to several US-friendly countries including Pakistan, South Korea, Greece, Taiwan, Turkey, Thailand and Jordan
