Suzuki offer his first win of the season by winning 8 Hours of Oschersleben and consolidated its leadership position in the overall standings before tackling on Le Mans 24 Hours, the final World Championship FIM Endurance ( EWC ) on 21 and 22 September in France. BMW Motorrad Belgium completed the podium.
SUZUKI pockets a second consecutive victory in Germany finishing with 316 towers. Leading from the start, Suzuki SERT conceded the first place in the 19th round before taking back command after the first round of pit stops. With fast and efficient relay stops, the Suzuki lighted number 1 has built its victory winning ahead the BMW Motorrad equipped by Electroluminescent store.
The second place resulted in a great battle between BMW Motorrad France Team Thevent and YART via different race strategies.
More economical, BMW electroluminescent number 99 had relied on a decision of less stops than YART. But the safety car racing action after 4:20, following the fall of superstock Suzuki, disturbed the table walk for the Belgian team. The competitor then had the opportunity to dig a sufficient distance to compensate the additional stops. However, a fire at the pit stop of Yamaha lighted number 7 was demoted to fourth place in a round of the BMW race number 99.
Author of the best qualifying performance, Broc Parkes whipped to bring YART to the podium. He set the fastest lap time in 1.27.151. The Austrian's team finished third. The 8 Hours of Oschersleben did not change the first three places in the standings, only the difference between them has evolved. With 84 points, Suzuki lighted number 1 has now 13 points more than the Yamaha team. The title will be decided again in September at the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Other leaders of the race start had various concerns. This is the case of the Suzuki R2CL which until the halfway stood up to the top teams, climbing to a superb 4th place between the official BMW and Kawasaki Bolliger Team Switzerland. An oil leak and then a drop ruined the efforts of pilots. R2CL finished 20th in the scratch and saved points 9th place in EWC.
The Honda TT Legends finished ninth framed by the Superstock teams. The English team could not compete with the other machines but relied on its strategy of fuel to make a difference. Unfortunately an out of fuel situation caused them to lose contact with the teams ahead.
